Winter needn't be drab and dull, it can be full of glorious colour!
· Ensure your garden has interest even in the winter months with winter flowering plants, like Viburnums, hellebores or winter jasmin, berries from hollies and aucuba and bright coloured stems which willows, and dogwoods provide. Have some containers with bright violas and winter pansies next to your front door to brighten your day.
Jobs to do this Winter

Looking to change your outlook?
· Winter is a perfect time to plan for next year’s garden.
· Whether planning a new planting scheme for a single border, browsing through seed catalogues or wanting a whole new garden design, now is the time to start.
· Anyone wishing to create a new garden should plan for 3 to 6 months development time, from first meeting with a designer to seeing the finished garden completed.
· If you know anyone thinking of adding value to their home with a new garden for next summer, tell them to start planning now.
· I get most of my work through referrals, so if you know someone who would benefit from my services please give them my details, or pass me their details so I can give them a call.

· As we move into winter it is best to have a good tidy of the garden, clear away debris and fallen leaves around plants to avoid pockets of warm where pests may lurk.
· Cut back faded climbers and tie in any shoots to supports.
· Plant bare rooted trees, shrubs and roses, fruit trees and bushes.
· Prune woody ornamental plants and fruit trees.
· Protect any exotic plants such as Bananas, Palms and Tree ferns with straw or fleece.
